Traditionally, Namji dolls were crafted by artisans in northern Cameroon to serve as fertility dolls. These dolls were given to young Namji girls to play with and to ensure their fertility, and are considered among the finest and the most beautiful dolls in Africa. This modern interpretation is crafted by artisans in Kenya.
